Quest Rates

We have implemented a new system for the Quest rates that will help us balance every important quest in game and not only.

General Quest Rates:

  • RateQuestsRewardQIBased = x2. (For some quests that are not listed below)

too low the rate of drop , the game card it's difficult for itselft.

Those drop rates seem super low? Is that balanced by admins or some sort of mistake?

It's really just based on my feeling from the pagan temple days. Imagine a 5ppl party in a room with like 7 mobs. Killing 3 full rooms so 1 party member gets 1 item seems low. I will report back later.

 

So I just checked on another server and I got 54 pagan totems (1x rates) out of 100 mobs. Here it would be 5(x2) totems for 100 mobs. Of course I cant gurantee the accuracy of that other servers rates but it does feel much closer to original rates. Remember Pagan is a party instance where not every member gets the item on kill and you need 2000 items for a reward.

 

Just going from a common sense point of view - imagine killing 20(5%)*2000(items for reward) *5(party members) = 200k mobs for a reward

By the way, undeads from Ancient Battle Grounds supposed to drop quest items, So, you think that it's pretty alright, that you are allowed to play mini-game after each train? Awesome low rate server experience.

Game after each train? Not even close, even with 100% chance. There are 6 mobs in a group, if each dropped 2 qi with 100% chance, you get 12 qi per train, for one game with dwarf u need 50 qi... so, 100% with 2 qi per mob seems just fine to me, and also it gives EWC, so....

Physical skills are capable to hit more than 12 targets per strike. Mage skills are limited only by range (correct me if I am wrong). So there no reason to waste mana only on one pack. 35% chance is fine for low rate server, in my humble opinion.

I will test this quest, and give you some numbers.

From my previous experience ,I can say that this zone is out of reach for most classes ( if played alone). Solo plays are punished because of all the stuns these mobs have. Gladiators, mage soulhounds and few mages can farm efficiently, the quest will be ballanced based of the performance of these classes , most likely.

On average , the spoil rate of ews is about 1/2000 and 1/200 for eas (78 lvl range). It seems fair that quests that reward ews/eas be boosted to match the spoil rate , otherwise the quests are not worth while. Some of these quests can be done while also spoiling for ews/eas , so with that in mind here is what I propose, feel free to suggest anything:

Seekers of the Holy Grail  
PaganTotemDropChance = 60%
PaganTotemDropCount = 2.

This meas you need to kill ~ 1800 mobs to be able to roll one reward. This is slightly better than the spoil rate  33% of the time ( if you roll a ews as reward) , and significantly worse 66% of the time ( if you roll eas or adena). Its a risk /reward type of quest.

Guardians Of The Holy Grail:
MonkScriptureDropChance = 85%
MonkScriptureDropCount = 2.

This means you need to kill ~ 2300 mobs to obtain a ews and ~ 230 to obtain eas .This is slightly worse than the spoil rate , but you get the scroll that you want 100% of the time.

Tested quests  A Game Of Cards  &  Seductive Whispers , I farmed in Ancient Battleground because its the easiest way to make trains. Both quests can be taken at the same time and its recommended you do so since you get both quest items from different mobs inside the same group. On average , in 5 minutes +- 30 seconds  you can obtain 50 quest items for each quest. Basically every 5 minutes you get to roll once for each quest. I rolled 6 times , and managed to get some adena and 8 ead, with better luck I might have gotten more.

To be honest , I made so much adena and got so much exp farming that the rewards from the quest felt like a bonus. The quests seem fine to me , maybe a bit overtuned , but then again I was farming in the most efficient way possible, the average  player will get a roll every 7 minutes.

Quest for Fishing Shot is indeed a bit undertuned , each sweet fruit can be converted in 100 adena. The current rates make it so that on average you get 100 adena extra for each mob killed ( mob on the quest list ). Compared to the average adena these mobs drop , you get 0.70% extra adena from the sweet fluid , which is very low. However , this is one of those quests you take once and the quest items keep stacking up while you are farming , and every once in while you make some extra adena. Here is what I suggest:

SweetFluidDropChance = 30%.-->100%
SweetFluidDropCount = 1-3 for Low level monsters & 3-5 for High level monsters

It took me arround 30 minutes to get 450 monk scruptures, with decent killing rate so it will take like 2-3h to complete 2k quest items.

The question is are quest items going to one person in pt just like in fog/it or to whole party on monastery?It took me arround 30 minutes to get 450 monk scruptures, with decent killing rate so it will take like 2-3h to complete 2k quest items.

Only one party member receive quest item.
